Red Hot Sadiq Umar Puts Feyenoord To The Sword With Goal And Assist For NAC Breda

Nigeria Rio 2016 Star Sadiq Umar proved his mettle once again for his loan side NAC Breda by bagging an assist and a goal in their 2-1 win over Feyenoord.

Sadiq was on from the start and the on loan Roma forward wasted no time in making his mark with a chance as early as the 5th minute of play, but with the goalkeeper at his mercy he failed to direct his effort into the net.

He drew another fine save from the Feyenoord goalkeeper in the 14th minute, with Bradley Jones in goal for the visitors forced into yet another save from the forward who was proving to hard to handle for the back line of Feyenoord.

In the 23rd minute with his team trailing Feyenoord by a lone goal, Sadiq dribbled his way past two defenders before forcing Jones into making another save, but this time around the shot stopper spilled the ball onto the path of Thierry Ambrose who tapped home to draw NAC Breda level.

Jololo like Sadiq is fondly called by friends and had two genuine claims for a penalty waived away by the referee in the second half, one of such lead to the sending off of his coach for vehemently protesting the referee’s decision not to award his team a spot kick.

However he finally got one in the 49th minute and he picked himself up to slot the resultant spot kick past Jones for what ended up as the winner for his team. He was substituted in the 84th minute to a standing ovation from the home fans.

Since joining NAC Breda on loan from Roma after terminating his deal at Serie A side Torino, where he spent the first half of the season, the 21 year old has scored three goals from five games with three assists to his name as well
